August 28th Post - Phase 2 Plan

Phase 2 with Council Public Affairs is still a work in progress. However, key details for what will be completed have been established. These include:

  • Making detailed request for funding in 2026 provincial budget

  • Execute town hall event and help with promoting and preparing for the event

  • Set up regular meetings with the Alliance to ensure effective communication

Phase two is going to be where more heavy lifting will be done as Phase 1 is more about establishing the Alliance as a partner.

August 22nd Post - Phase 1 Plan

Council Public Affairs that has been selected to complete the Government Relations work for the Alliance has a very mapped out phase 1 plan. 

This plan includes:

  • Requesting meetings with the Minister of Health

  • Preparing documents and supporting the Alliance at those meetings

  • Engage key third-party stakeholders

  • Prepare a review of health ministry’s budget for Alliance to achieve greater health care accessibility 

  • Set up regular meetings with Alliance

  • Plan phase 2 town hall meeting and draft strategy document to be executed

Council Public Affairs is going to play a crucial role in helping the Alliance achieve their goals, specifically within the Healthcare sector. 

August 8th Post - Health Minister Meeting

Members of the Alliance and the GR Firm representatives from Counsel Public Affairs met with the Health Minister on July 2nd. Different points were discussed including 24/7 ER and updating the lab. They also talked about the creative ways to work with high school students to pique their interests in the health care sector. The meeting was adjourned with a commitment from the minister to meet the group again!

July 30th Post - Counsel Public Affairs

The Hamiota Community Alliance selected Counsel Public Affairs as their GR firm. They are going to complete all the Government Relations work at the Alliance. Commitment to phase 1 has been secured and phase 2 is a work in progress. The Alliance is very fortunate to the Hamiota District Health Centre Foundation for receiving funding to support the Alliance’s GR work.
